Private Anxiety Counselling in Leicester

End the overthinking, the dread, and the feeling that something's always about to go wrong.

In Person or Online

Are you tired of beginning each day feeling uneasy or on edge?

Hi I'm Gina.

If you're here, something has felt off for a while. You’re holding it together, telling everyone you're fine, but underneath, you're exhausted by constant worry, sleepless nights, and feeling like an outsider in your own life.

It is incredibly common to wonder if your situation is "serious enough" for therapy. But you don’t need to hit rock bottom to deserve support. Ask yourself if living with this quiet heaviness is worth putting off your own peace of mind. Therapy isn't just for a crisis; it is about making daily life feel easier. You deserve a space to finally exhale and reset.

For over a decade, I’ve worked with people who had quietly started giving up on themselves and forgotten what it feels like to be calm. Together, we found their spark again. You can do the same.

"She was my first experience with counselling and prior to her i had the assumption it would be an old stiff glaring at me, judging me and would be super formal. This couldn’t have been further from the truth as the sessions are super casual, chilled and overall just a really good environment."

What clients say

This might be for you if...

You've been telling yourself you're fine — but you know you're not

You lie awake at night with your thoughts running on their own loop

You cancel plans, avoid situations, or say no to things you actually want to do

You feel on edge without being able to explain why - just a low-level sense that something's wrong

Your anxiety is starting to affect your work, your relationships, or your sleep

You've been managing this alone for a while and you're tired of it

You're not sure if what you're feeling is "bad enough" to need help — but it's been going on long enough

If you ticked even one of these, you don't have to keep managing this on your own.

Why anxiety is so hard to just "get over"

Most people with anxiety already know, on some level, that their fears are disproportionate. They know the meeting probably won't go badly. They know the plane probably won't crash. They know everything is most likely fine.

And yet the anxiety doesn't stop.

That's because anxiety isn't really about the thing you're worried about. It's a pattern, a way your brain has learned to respond. Even when you solve one worry, your mind immediately finds something else to attach itself to. The threat changes. The feeling stays.

This is why telling yourself to calm down doesn't work. And why ignoring it doesn't make it go away. Anxiety is a learned pattern of thinking and responding, and like any learned pattern, it can be unlearned. That's what therapy does. Not talking endlessly about how you feel, but actively retraining the way your mind responds to uncertainty, threat, and fear.

Most clients start to notice a difference within a few sessions.

About Gina

BACP Registered Member

[10+] years of practice · Degree in Counselling, University of Leicester · GMF Counselling, Leicester I've spent over a decade working with people whose anxiety had become the background noise of their lives — always there, always taking up space, quietly exhausting. The people I work with aren't usually in crisis. More often, they're people who have been functioning well on the outside while carrying something heavy on the inside, and who finally reached a point where they didn't want to do that anymore. My approach is tailored to you. I draw on person-centred counselling, CBT techniques, and mindfulness-based approaches — not because I follow a formula, but because different people need different things, and good therapy should fit the person, not the other way around. I offer sessions in person in Leicester and online across the UK.
